OpenAI has introduced a new feature in its Chatbot “ChatGPT ” that allows users to use the WhatsApp app to communicate with the AI bot directly through the instant messaging app. However, setting up the feature requires some effort, as you must add the announced ChatGPT new contacts to your contacts list and initiate a chat.
As of this writing, you can only use a US or Canadian number to chat with the Chatbot if you are from an eligible country where ChatGPT is accessible. Another good thing about messaging is that users do not need to create an account on OpenAI’s service to chat with the bot.
Communicating with the bot via an instant messaging application is more limited than directly via the ChatGPT web service or application. The bot only understands text inputs, so there is no point in sending it images, for example.
How to use it
You can start chatting with ChatGPT by adding 1-800-242-8478 to your contact information. Alternatively, you can start a conversation using this link through.
You will know you are chatting with a genuine ChatGPT bot if you see a small certificate mark after the contact’s name.
We have already tested the feature. It responds to messages with a slight delay after considering the answer for a few seconds. The bot can also split replies into multiple messages, among other things.
The only downside is that the information used when searching for real-time events is limited to January 2022. When using the tools, it’s important to note that they can actually make hallucinations with their answers; therefore, remember to verify facts.
