How to Check Your NSSF Number Online
Once you register for NSSF, the system will assign you your NSSF number, which you will use to access all the NSSF services. Furthermore, you will also be required to pick up your card from any NSSF office that contains your key details as registered on NSSF, including the number printed on the card. Both the card and the number are key essential components when it comes to making contributions, etc.
But then, if it happens that you have lost your card and remember your NSSF number, did you know that you can easily retrieve it online through the NSSF portal? Yes, that is possible so long as you have the email and password to access your online accounts portal.

- Navigate to the login page at https://selfservice.nssf.or.ke/login/?registration=disabled
- Proceed to Login using your username or email address, then enter your password and log in
- If you have forgotten your password, just click on forgotten your password and follow the process to get new login credentials.
- Once you’ve logged in, you can access various services, including viewing your NSSF statement, which displays your NSSF number.
Checking Your NSSF Number via SMS
Some people have wondered if they can check their NSSF number using SMS. Just know that it is impossible to check your NSSF number using SMS. While the official NSSF SMS number is 6773, this number is used to check your status and get your statement.
To get your NSSF Statement via SMS, you only need to Open a new message on your phone>>Type NSSF, Space, then Date of birth and Full name. When done, send the message to 6773.
After a short while, NSSF will send your PIN after the verification process, so compose another message and type Balance followed by the PIN sent to you and send it to 6773. After a few minutes, you will receive your NSSF statement

It’s not possible to check the NSSF number using the SMS method. The NSSF SMS number is 6773, and it is only used to check your status and get statements as of 2025. However, we will update you when there is a change or update on this.
Checking Your NSSF Number Offline
While the self-service portal can be used to get your NSSF number, another option that easily works is the Offline route. Typically, this method requires you to visit an NSSF office in your location or contact their customer support team.
