In 2024, TSC announced 46,000 teacher vacancies for Primary, Junior, Secondary, and Secondary Schools. They are broken down as follows:

What are the minimum qualifications for TSC teachers?

Therefore, to ensure that only qualified personnel are recruited, the commission has several guidelines that all applicants must meet before they are recruited.   • You must be a citizen of Kenya above 18 years.
  • The minimum academic qualification is a P1 certificate for diploma holders or a bachelor’s degree.

  • A minimum of at least C+ in KCSE is a must, or it is equal in two teaching subjects

What Happens After Recruitment?

After the recruitment process is complete, shortlisted candidates will be notified about their interview dates and venues. During the process, you will be required to present your original academic and professional certificates. These include:

  • PTE Certificate

Has TSC advertised recruitment of interns?

Aside from the regular vacancy positions, TSC also has slots for interns. The best thing is that TSC interns are paid a monthly stipend of Ksh 15,000 for those in primary schools and Ksh 20,000 for those in secondary schools.

In 2024, the commission advertised applications to fill 20,000 teacher internship posts in Junior Schools to support the implementation of a Competency-Based Curriculum.
