New Fuel Prices in Kenya: Petrol, Diesel, and Kerosene Rates (November 15 – December 15, 2024)

Today, most government institutions run on fuel for various applications, from industries to vehicles. Surprisingly, we also use it in our homes, i.e., electricity. Therefore, fuel is a common source of energy even here in Kenya, and the common types are Petrol, Gas, Diesel, and many others. When it comes to utilizing fuel in Kenya, the prices are controlled by the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) based on analyses of various factors, including Supply and Demand, Taxes, and Global Market fuel Prices. So, what are the new EPRA fuel Prices in Kenya?

Fuel Prices in Kenya are usually updated after a period every 30 days, with the latest changes already in effect from November 15 – December 15, 2024, as announced by EPRA. In this article, we cover everything that you need to know about the fuel prices of every town and county in Kenya.

New Fuel Prices in Kenya Today 2024

EPRA Kenya announces new fuel prices for a given period as guided by Section 101(y) of the Petroleum Act 2019 and Legal Notice No.192 of 2022. From November 15 to December 15, 2024, the fuel prices for super petrol, diesel, and kerosene in Nairobi county will go from Ksh180.66 to Ksh168.06 and Ksh151.39, respectively.

While the prices vary from one town to another, it is also important to note that the prices for last month have also been retained. For example, in Mombasa County, the Super petrol will retail at Ksh 177.42, diesel at Ksh 164.82, and Kerosnese at Ksh 148.15.

All the field Prices for all counties and towns are inclusive of the 16% Value Added Tax (VAT) in line with the provisions of the Finance Act 2023, the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2020, and the revised rates for excise duty adjusted for inflation as per Legal Notice No. 194 of 2020.
